SEWER FLIES

Sewer fly

Sewer flies are small, grey pest, they come from organic buildups in any area where there is standing water, breeds in the buildup in pipes and enters the bathroom through a faulty seal between the toilet and sewer flange. This might indicate they are breeding lower down in the pipe and flying upwards. sewer flies are attracted to moist places, making a leaky pipe or a clogged drain the perfect place for them. An increase in flies in kitchen and bathroom, indicates a leak or a clogged drain.
They can trigger bronchial asthma in susceptible individuals and their larvae can cause myiasis, a parasitic infestation in which the larvae grow inside human tissue.
